Juneteenth Cook-out and Wildflower Walk:

Sunday, June 5, 2022, 6:30 p.m.
Posted Tuesday May 31, 2022
Bird Runner Wildlife Refuge will partner with Prairie Heritage, Inc. and Junction City Juneteenth Community Association to host students from the Job Corps for an evening on the prairie.   The Job Corps students come from all over the country and in some cases the world, and we want to welcome them heartily to the Flint Hills!   This event is the beginning of the Juneteenth season in the Flint Hills, to be followed by a screening of "This Is Love" on June 10, 7 p.m., at the Opera House in Junction City; a major celebration in Junction City in Heritage Park on June 11, 12-5 p.m.; and another celebration in Manhattan on June 18, 2022.
